New Skills Training Accreditation Launches in FABSS!
We have just finished planning our brand-new annual skills training programme, running from April 2025 to March 2026! This year’s line-up is packed with practical, high-impact workshops covering everything from research impact and preparing for REF 2029, to communicating your impact, mastering media interactions, and boosting your personal development.
But that’s not all... We’re taking things to the next level with the launch of an accreditation scheme in partnership with the brilliant team at
Through getTWOit, you’ll have the chance to earn micro-credentials - not just simple digital badges, but powerful, real-world proof of the skills you're developing. These credentials showcase your contributions to the evolving social science ecosystem, and chart pathways that will help you keep growing, innovating, and making a difference.
If you attend workshops through our IAA programme, you’ll have the option to sign up to getTWOit, build your very own digital learning passport, and easily download or share your badges/certificates with employers, networks, and beyond. It's a fantastic way to celebrate your professional growth and make it visible.
We're working behind the scenes to get everything ready to accredit the workshops in our ‘Spotlight on Public Engagement’ this May and June, and we'll retrospectively issue badges to attendees of 'The Ethics of Impact and Engagement' on 3rd April, and other previous IAA training sessions (on request).
Stay tuned for more updates after the Easter break! If you have any questions email: j.warsap@surrey.ac.uk
