Biography
Currently I am Vice President of New Business Partnerships at and Co-Founder of Travel Agency.
From this position I started to investigate the applications and implications of blockchain and tokenomics in global travel & tourism industry. I am an advocate of utilising technology to forge new pathways to a better future. My current work covers digital nudging and technological issues able to develop sociotechnical systems for sustainability transition to net zero path.
Starting for March 2021 I conduct research on digital transformation in Visitor Economy, focusing on sustainability, carbon footprint offsetting and consumer behaviour. This research aims to investigate how to design and implement a blockchain business model that facilitates carbon investment in green projects and how to design the associated tokenomics that can make it work effectively.
I had a comprehensive diplomatic career which includes both public and commercial diplomacy. As First Secretary at Romanian Embassy in People’s Republic of China and as Consul General at the Consulate General of Romania in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) and Macao SAR, I was directly involved in the political & commercial diplomacy of Romania & European Union in Asia-Pacific area. As a diplomat, I was the engineer of the negotiating strategies used by the Romanian delegations to successfully conclude strategic partnership agreements with political representatives of Asia-Pacific states and regional investors. As Chief of Staff at the Office of the Minister of State (Vice-Prime Minister) for Economic Affairs, Chief of Staff at the Office of Minister of Finance and Personal Counsellor of the Minister of Transport, I was deeply involved in various efforts to communicate and influence Romanian Government strategic objectives, at the European Union level, as part of my public diplomacy activity.
As a high-ranking official for several Romanian ministries, I was managing the fields of strategic international affairs and European economic affairs. As a member of the Board of Directors of several companies, I was an active member of specialist strategy teams focused on optimising business portfolios, identifying new investment opportunities, and exploring innovative ways of improving productivity in a variety of industries like banking & finance, wellbeing & tourism and transportation sectors.

My research focuses on designing a successful token economics mechanism able to align the incentives of clients, investors and service providers in a 3-tier token architecture, to attract more participants to join the blockchain platform and expand its influence in the visitor economy. To support the business model and investigate the main challenges and facilitators for its stable, scalable and sustainable token operations, I designed new types of Decentralized Autonomous Organisation (DAO) able to ensure transparency, accountability and democratic decision-making inside the Carbon Tokenomics Model (CTM) mechanism. I called them Decentralized Independent Organisation (DIO) and Distributed Cooperative Organisation (DisCO).
I am part of a team involved in the cyber architecture for potential integration of a new model infrastructure to support secure sustainability of blockchain, metaverse and crypto currencies relying on the Virtual Dissimulated Encrypted Server (VDES) and/or Inner Trusted Labyrinth (InTL) Non-Routable Objects (NRO) technological design. The VDES platform is designed to obfuscate the real end point IP of the landing server.
I am also monitoring and coordinating the team implicated in a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) developed by Â鶹ÊÓƵ and financed by UK Government and Therme Group. The project aims to develop a holistic science-based calculator of the carbon footprint generated by services acquired by the clients of the Visitor Economy.
Research projects
A New Era of Security and Innovative Tokenomics for the Future Visitor Economy (VE))The aim of this research is developing a blockchain-based financial ecosystem in combination with smart contracts to enable transparent, traceable, and secure peer-to-peer financial transactions and services. To achieve this, we have developed an innovative Carbon Tokenomics Model (CTM) to help finance climate projects from funds raised in the VE, while simultaneously remedying the shortcomings of previous approaches.
Our proposed CTM uses blockchain technology to generate, store, trade, and erase carbon credits, and to manage an efficient incentive mechanism that is supported by artificial intelligence, with the goal of creating traceable, real, and permanent climate finance investments.
Reinventing Carbon Credits for the Visitor Economy through a 3-Tier Token ConceptA promising approach to utilizing blockchain for carbon credits in the tourism sector is to employ a multi-layered token system to make the tokenized asset tradable in a transparent and secure manner. Our CTM model involves creating three types of tokens which are interlinked to each other with its specific criteria to avail and make use of a specific token for trading (either in crypto or fiat money).
Generally, the process of tokenization, wherein a digital token represents complete or fractional ownership of an asset, mirrors the division of ownership into shares found in traditional stock markets. This mechanism empowers any entity to fragment ownership of a controlled asset in a verifiable manner. By enabling the tokenization of diverse assets, financial markets become more accessible, offering investors a broader spectrum of investment opportunities.
Redesigning Carbon Credits to Future-Proof the Visitor Economy with Blockchain Technology and Progressive TokenomicsThis project seeks to leverage blockchain for its inherent transparency, immutability, and decentralization, which are pivotal in mitigating risks like greenwashing and double counting in carbon markets. Advanced and innovative consensus mechanisms such as Proof-of-Commitment (PoC) and Delegated Proof-of-Commitment (DPoC) are explored to optimize efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Furthermore, the integration of Post-Quantum Cryptography promises enhanced security against evolving cyber threats. By addressing these blockchain-specific challenges, the project aims to establish a reliable and scalable blockchain infrastructure, making it a suitable tool for resolving issues in carbon offsetting and advancing the VE towards ’net zero’ objectives.
