Biography

Jaime started her working career as a microbiologist, before undertaking an accelerated Advanced Diploma in Adult Nursing at Southampton University in 2001. In 2006 she completed her BSc (Hons) Midwifery at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ, followed in 2012 by the completion of her MSc in Advanced Practice (Midwifery).

Jaime has worked in a busy maternity unit as a member of the maternity Practice Development Team, a clinical midwife practitioner, Supervisor of Midwives (SoM), mentor, and advanced assessor of the newborn, providing high-quality, evidenced-based, woman-centered antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to mothers and babies.

Jaime officially joined the midwifery teaching team at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ in September 2015 and completed the Post Graduate Certificate in Education for Professional Practice in 2016.

Jaime continues to work as a practicing midwife at Frimley Park Hospital, Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust.

Research interests

Obesity in pregnancy and the postpartum period.
