An essential tool for sustainable planning of water resource and land use
Overview
Lake Poopó, located in the Andrean Mountain Range Plateau, has shown a decline in lake water level which has coincided with an intensification of agricultural exploitation. Using Earth Observation (EO) time series datasets in conjunction with land cover and precipitation data, the research shows that most evapotranspiration (ET) losses are associated with cropping practices, and that ET changes occur primarily in the region’s web period.
