Through our partnership, we offer courses that develop vocationally relevant skills and strengthens key areas such as project management, analysis and communication, in line with the demands of today's employers. By adopting a new type of transnational approach, students from the UK and China have the opportunity to spend part of their course at both Surrey and DUFE.‭ 

We collaborate with DUFE to ensure students are well-managed and can participate in important committees, including the relevant Learning and Teaching Committee, Staff-Student Liaison Committee or Students' Union. Academic staff at both locations provide personal tutoring and regular consultation times so students can freely interact with teaching staff. 

SII-DUFE is governed through a joint management committee (JMC), which in turn is run by its appointed Executive Group. The Vice-Chancellor of Â鶹ÊÓƵ leads Surrey’s JMC team. A senior member of Surrey staff is appointed by the JMC as the Chair of the Executive Group in charge of the operations of the joint venture. Professor Vince Emery, Senior Vice-President (Global Strategy and Engagement) currently holds this post.

SII-DUFE is monitored and approved by the Ministry of Education China and is audited by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) in the UK and the China Education Association for International exchange (CEAIE), ensuring that quality standards in teaching, learning and assessments are continually improved. The partnership is an approved Sino Foreign Joint Cooperative School (SFJCS).
