Though I couldn't define what a masters degree should be, it feels as if FADA represents everything it should be. It allows a level of freedom to work on what you are passionate about, to question lecturers, and squeeze every ounce of detail from them that you can. 

The care and dedication the tutors show to each individual student is unparalleled. They really set you up to succeed in the path that you specifically want to take. 

As part of the Surrey/ICE Scholarship Scheme, I matched with civil engineering contractor BAM Nuttall, who provided me with both financial sponsorship and placement opportunities whilst studying.

The Film Production and Broadcast Engineering course is unique in its combination of the creative and technical sides of film and broadcast and there is such variety in module content: from filming, editing and programme development, to coding and technical essays. 

I’ve always had a passion for film and TV and it wasn’t until I discovered this course that I found out about the possibility of working on the more engineering/technical side of industry, which really appealed to me.

The university’s placement team was incredibly helpful and motivating throughout the entire process. Despite the setbacks, their unwavering belief and support were a massive reason I was able to acquire my placement.

From a young age, I always loved problem-solving and technology and so I knew I wanted to go into Engineering. This followed into secondary school where I greatly enjoyed computing and physics but specifically the circuitry topics so Electronic Engineering seemed like the perfect fit.
