Biography
Professor Adrian Hilton is the director of the Centre for Vision Speech and Signal Processing and the founding director of the Surrey Institute for People-Centred AI.

Professor Sabine Braun

Biography
Professor Braun’s leadership in the Centre for Translation Studies (CTS), which focuses on human-machine integration in translation and interpreting and has become highly interdisciplinary, housing staff with expertise in natural language processing, computer science, sociology and healthcare communication.
Professor Yi-Zhe Song

Biography
Yi-Zhe Song leads the SketchX lab, a world-leading research group on computer vision and machine learning. He is an Associate Editor of the
IEEE Transactions on Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (TPAMI), the world's top-ranked AI journal in terms of impact factor (16.389). He established the flagship MSc AI programme at Surrey, currently hosting 100+ students, and acts as the Turing Liaison (Academic) to the Alan Turing Institute.
Dr Joaquin Prada

Biography
My research focuses on the development of mathematical and statistical models to inform policy decision-making for the control and elimination of infectious diseases, with a particular interest in neglected tropical diseases (NTDs).
My work has supported global policy, for example during the development of the 2021-2030 NTD roadmap, and I am also part of several informal WHO-led working groups and the United Against Rabies forum working group 1 (a FAO-OIE-WHO initiative). My research group at Surrey combines mathematical modelling with economic evaluation and stakeholder elicitation techniques to develop sustainable portfolios of interventions against NTDs (in particular zoonotic NTDs such as Echinococcosis and Rabies).
I hold a visiting position at North Carolina State University. I previously held similar visiting positions at the University of Warwick and the University of Oxford.

Elizabeth (Eli) James

Biography
Eli is responsible for the institute's strategy development and implementation of all non-academic activities, as well as leading the operational initiatives necessary to establish an open and inclusive cross-disciplinary people-centred AI focus in research, training and innovation. These include; communications, transformation projects, pan-University collaboration, culture change, and people and financial management for the Institute.

The Surrey Future Fellows scheme is dedicated to identifying and empowering the upcoming generation of research leaders within the University.
